Trades union signs contracts
Concordia University and the Canadian Marine Officers Union, known by its French acronym, SCOMM, signed two collective agreements on Nov. 30 covering approximately 100 employees in the trades, distribution and custodial services on both campuses.
As a result, employees will receive an annual three-per-cent wage increase retroactive to June 2003, with higher premiums for group leaders and shift work.
Among other things, long-term temporary employees will be granted permanent status and the university will further invest in professional development.
