Students in Design and Computation Arts supplied highly unusual centrepieces for the tables at the dinner held by the incoming president and his guests. More than 200 guests attended a reception and dinner-conference on Oct. 20, the evening before the installation, with guest speaker Donald Johnston, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), seen above. He spoke about “The Challenges of Borderless Higher Education.”
A member of parliament from 1978 to 1988, he served as President of the Treasury Board, Minister of State for Economic and Regional Development, Minister of Science & Technology, and Minister of Justice.
