Precious resource in Uganda

In these photographs, Gabriel Bran Lopez illustrates the effects of scarcity of water in Northern Uganda. Many communities devastated by war are also struggling with flooding that has ravaged northern and eastern parts of the country.

Concordia students can experience the stresses and triumphs of life in Northern Uganda through the Concordia Volunteer Abroad Program. The CVAP is accepting applications until Nov. 15. Go to www.concordiavolunteers.org

The Nile River is the geographical divide between northern and southern Uganda. The people of northern Uganda felt neglected for many years, and this was a catalyst for war in the region. Over the past 21 years, villages have been destroyed and almost two million individuals have been displaced to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps. Magnifying glass
