More than 3 000 prospective students and their families descended upon the university Nov. 7 for Open House, which organizer Pina Greco from Enrolment and Student Services called “the best one yet.”

Packed shuttle buses were zipping back and forth between both campuses as visitors attended tours, mini lectures and special presentations organized by all four Faculties.

A committee of over 20 people plus dozens of volunteers ensured the event ran smoothly. Though the big day is over, they’re already moving on. “We’re already thinking about next year,” Greco says.

This is the first time Open House was held in November instead of January. Weather-wise, it’s easier for those travelling to Montreal to do so in the fall to avoid snowstorms.

“It helps parents coming in from out of town,” she says.

McGill’s open house took place the following day. Greco says it works out well for both institutions.
